Thinking...

Had a lovely dinner with a close friend tonight. This friend is wonderful for in-depth and heartfelt conversations, a quality that I treasure so I look forward to these interactions. Topics and stories flowed but some interesting take-aways revolved around the subject of human interaction. Perhaps this comes from being a student of social science and psychology, but human interaction is one of my favorite subjects.

I highly recommend a series on Hulu called "This Emotional Life" Check it out here.  It's absolutely wonderful. I find myself devouring these videos and learning remarkable things about emotional intelligence, experiential learning, and most importanly-myself.

No but really- aside from the fur aspect- I look, act, and sound exactly like this in the morning. Just another reason why I think I'm too similar to man's best friend. 

Question...

Is it completely weird that I find this video amazing and....HOT. I don't know, I don't know!!! I DO know that I've always had a thing for musicians, especially string instrumentalists but this seem a little beyond the norm-even for me. I'll just go with it. 

I'm perfectly aware that this video was meant as a joke and that they are acting but still...the intensity and finger skill... HAHA ok joking

I am a Champion...

Or at  least I am according to my Humanmetrics exam. This personality test is based on the works of noted psychiatrist Carl Jung- who was the founder of analytical thinking!  Based on his theories the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator has become one of the most popular psychometric devices.  This psychometric questionnaire was designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make discussions. The test was primarily based and extrapolated from  Carl Jung's typological theories. I've looked at Jung a decent amount in my studies and I remember especially like his methods. We did a whole unit on his dream analysis theories and those were some of the best months for my creative writing side projects.  Anyway,   You can take the test here!  DO it!

I took the test and was classified as ENFP ( Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving) which is also know as An Idealist Champion. Apparently I am very rare, only compromising 3-4% of the population. See mom, I always knew I was special! I am joining some distinguished peers in this classification: Mark Twain, Bill Cosby, Oprah Winfrey, Betty Friedan, Martin Short, Meg Ryan, Robin Williams, Sandra Bullock, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, and Regis Philbin. Cooool.

While reading through the characteristics of the Champion ( yep, still love saying that)   found one particular passage especially poignant:  "ENFPs have what some call a "silly switch." They can be intellectual, serious, all business for a while, but whenever they get the chance, they flip that switch and become CAPTAIN WILDCHILD, the scourge of the swimming pool, ticklers par excellence. Sometimes they may even appear intoxicated when the "switch" is flipped." HAHA so true!!

Looking back...

I was in the process of cleaning up my computer and found a file of old images and photos from over the years. It's really neat to look back at your former self- and really your former life. I feel like I've grown so much as a person and looking back at these pictures from two, three, or even five years ago really proves it to me. I highly recommend you do this. It's important to remember where we came from in order to appreciate the changes we've undergone.

I'll share some of the sillier ones here and try to briefly state where I was in my life at that point and what I've learned since. I've decided to be brutally honest  with myself and forthright with these photos to reinforce my life lessons and inspire you to do the same Get to it!

Fashion...

I have recently become obsessed with the streetwear fashion blogs Jak & Jil and The Sartorialist.  And Jcrew Men's collection. I had to create a new inspiration folder to accommodate hundreds (literally) of photos just from the past day.  I was so into what call  I "research" that hours went by without my notice. I swore it was 11:30 am on Saturday and the next time I looked up it was 12:45 am Sunday. I made myself go to sleep only because my left eye was twitching. haha. I am happy to report that I don't appear to have any lasting side-effects from my internet fashion binge. My eye is now back to it's normal green non-twitchy self.  I tend to get REALLY involved in things when I'm interested- to the point where I have now viewed every picture and read every article on Jak & Jil dating back to 2007.... maybe this falls more under the category of obsession.

Anyway I've decide to break down my not-so-little collection of photos into subgroups to post over time. Otherwise this post would might take up 12 pages. I'll probably end up posting too many photos anyway because I'm so excited about all of them. It's like choosing between your children.....sigh

 So, on to Menswear's! To me, there is nothing more impressive or attractive than a well-dressed man. The simple and classic look that appear so effortless. Paired with sunglasses, hat, scarf, scruff, a blackberry, or the newspaper- I just can't get enough. :) Especially nice watches on guys. I have this weird things about watches- when it's done right it's amazing.  I think I'm indulging myself with this post but I'm ok with that.
